Driver idling car to charge up his phone Reported anonymously at 16:48, Wed 21 October 2020 Driver at corner of Montagu Place and Gloucester Place Mews was idling his Volvo estate wagon. I politely asked him to switch it off, but he said he needed to run the engine for another 10 minutes to charge his mobile phone. I explained that the car was unnecessarily burning fossil-fuel and spewing out toxic particles, and that idling was against Westminster traffic regulations. He didn't seem to care, and was not bothered when I photographed his car registration plates.
