Rubbish dumped on Upper Wimpole St outsdie nos: 22/23 at foot of tree.

Reported anonymously at 17:42, Tue 19 January 2021

Last month I wrote: "This has been an ongoing problem for many months. The rubbish is a permanent fixture. Sometimes it is collected, more often not. The current lot has been there over 5 days. Even once it is collected, it reappears again the next day. I work from home and my office, living room and kitchen overlook the street so it is very frustrating to have this eyesore every time I look out of the window. This is completely inappropriate and unacceptable in this very expensive residential neighbourhood. Please resolve this asap. Thank you." The problem persists in exactly the same way as described above. See photos for the typical situation every day, all day. I noticed that the recycling lorry drove by just now (4.30 pm) and left the debris which is obstructing the entire width of the pavement. The lorry often only collects from one side of the street which seems mad. This problem will not be solved just by collecting the rubbish as per the schedule although clearly that would help. It is supposed to be collected every day but in practice that does not happen. It will only be solved by telling the offending party/parties to desist. A good start would be to send a letter to all residents/businesses in Upper Wimpole St saying something like: "There have been several complaints about rubbish obstructing the pavement and causing an eyesore on Upper Wimpole St, particularly outside nos: 22/23. Can you please ensure that, where possible, rubbish is not left on the pavement or at the foot of trees but instead within the limits of your property, i.e. on the area between the front door and the pavement or at the top of the stairs to the basement. To help minimize inconvenience and maximize hygiene and safety, please also leave rubbish out as near to the next collection time as possible details of which can be found on our website. This is one the most exclusive residential neighbourhoods in the world. Let's act together to keep it clean, tidy and safe." Can you please do that or something similar? BTW, I couldn't manage to submit the report under my name despite clicking "Continue" rather than "Submit report anonymously", I think it needs attention. I have no problem with my personal details being stored and would certainly very much updates on my report please. Thank you for you help. Robin Hayley
