Rubbish in Leicester Square

Reported anonymously at 09:49, Fri 22 July 2022

I was in London a few weeks ago on a Hen do, we went to Leicester Square at the end of the evening to get some food. I was horrified at the state of the area. The empty food bags, drinks bottles, coffee cups etc was appalling. There was a street cleaner trying to tidy up at midnight. You are obviously trying and the cleaner told me that it was not as bad as usual. There were mice running around through all the rubbish just behind where people were sitting on concrete benches eating. And there were empty rubbish bins in front of them. There were all nationalities and all ages just walking away from their rubbish. I was appalled at the human behaviour and really feel this needs to be highlighted. Your street cleaner was polite and I felt it necessary to apologise to him for the rubbish left.
