Extraordinary high level of noise from WCC cleaning machine during the night.

Reported in the Street washing category anonymously at 11:41, Wednesday 19 February 2020

Sent to Westminster City Council 10 minutes later

One of the street cleaning machines patrolling Oxford Street has a increasing noise problem with its engine. For weeks and weeks it has been making an incredibly loud high-pitched howling noise. The last few nights it has been even worse. We thought we were hearing sirens, like for air raids during the war (or thought maybe the Thames had overcome the Thames Barrier). Please repair this machine. The noise they make is too loud when they are functioning normally (e.g 84decibels by the machine for one of the models - helping make ambient noise in our locale higher than the WHO guideline levels). This machine is on Oxford Street, for example usually at around 11.15pm in the Selfridges area. Your categories menu does not offer enough options.
