Subject: Request for Immediate Action Regarding Bird Feeding Issues on Claverton Street, No. 7

Reported via mobile in the Animal Nuisance category anonymously at 16:18, Thu 14 November 2024

Sent to Westminster City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6745129.

I am writing to bring to your attention a situation that is causing significant inconvenience for residents, nearby schools and children and traffic along Claverton Street SW1V 3AY , particularly between numbers 3 and 9. I belive The balcony of the apartment at No. 7 is being used regularly to feed pigeons, which has led to a notable increase in the population of pigeons and seagulls in the area. This situation has become unsustainable for several reasons: 1. Traffic Safety: The large number of pigeons and seagulls flying around and gathering on rooftops and along the street presents a hazard to local traffic, including Bus Line 24. 2. Health and Environmental Issues: The constant accumulation of bird droppings is damaging building facades and poses health risks to residents due to the potential spread of pathogens in the waste. 3. Disturbance to the Community: The nesting and overcrowding of pigeons and seagulls around the buildings on the street cause ongoing disruption for local residents. I respectfully request that measures be taken to prevent the resident at No. 7 Claverton Street from continuing this bird feeding activity. Reducing the food source would help decrease the influx and concentration of these birds, improving safety and quality of life for everyone in the area. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing what actions may be taken to address this issue.
